Council Remove Employee Handbook

Scottish Borders Council have removed the employee handbook from their web site intranet page without discussion with the JTU meaning the employee handbook is no longer available.

When asked  by Unite why it had been removed without consultation the councils answer was that it was not up to date and that it was covered under the policies and procedures section of the intranet.

Although that may be factual the employee handbook was easier for employees to navigate and access and get information regarding queries they may have regarding their terms and conditions.

Unite will continue to raise the issue regarding its removal and albeit out of date will leave the employee handbook on their branch web site as a guide to members who may wish to access it.
